Lie to Me
My Score: 6.5/10
Summary: Gong Ah Jung mistakenly lies that she’s married to chaebol Hyun Ki Joon. You see, she was jealous that her friend married the guy she liked while she was busy studying in college to impress said guy. Now, years later, her friend shows up and makes fun of her. Gong Ah Jung just can’t take it anymore and lies that she is married too. Due to certain circumstances, her friend assumes her husband is Hyun Ki Joon.
Review: This drama frustrates me a little bit… it was just so funny and good for the first half, and then it feels like it kind of trailed off towards the end. (I heard it was getting lower ratings, so maybe that’s why they just kind of did what they wanted at the end?)
Anyway, like I said, I loved this drama at the beginning. I was laughing and gasping a lot. It was slightly unpredictable, and just entertaining. Yoon Eun Hye is one of my favorite actresses, and Kang Ji Hwan really grew on me.
The “villians” were a bit annoying, but for the most part, they didn’t really get in the way too much. I liked the brother rivalry, but I’m always into that type of plot.
The story-line sounded cliche at first, but they really pulled it off with the strange little things they put in along the way. It was just great.
Things I Didn’t Like: Towards the end, it felt like they were just stringing it along. I can’t really describe how I felt about it… it just started to feel like they were trying to create more drama out of nothing drama-worthy. Yoon Eun Hye’s character became annoying and frustrating. The rivals just kind of faded out and disappeared.
The end felt like it lacked substance too. I mean, I went from being addicted to the drama to just kind of waiting for it to end. It would’ve been a great drama if the writers had put a bit more effort into the end.
My Score: 7/10
