Hot Summer Days Movie

My Score: 8/10

★★★★☆

Director: Tony Chan Wing Shya

Cast: Nicholas Tse Barbie Hsu Jacky Cheung Rene Liu Daniel Wu Vivian Hsu

Genre: Romance/Comedy/Drama

Summary: This movie tells five different stories of people living and finding love during a heat wave in the Chinese territory.

Review: This is a perfect movie to watch on a summer night. (During a summer day, it might just make you feel hotter, but on a cool summer night, it’s great).

There were five different couples and the movie kept going back and forth between each of their stories and managed to balance them well. Each of the stories were pretty interesting too, so I was never bored during any of them. It was also good at balancing comedy and drama.

The acting was all really good too, and as a Barbie Hsu fan, I have to say I was really happy with her character in this film. Her style and attitude were really cool here.

In one of the stories, there were cartoon CG fish that talked in the background… I wasn’t sure if I liked it or not, but decided that it wasn’t too bad haha. I guess it provided a cute narration to things.

I loved the way they ended it. The most dramatic ending was second-to-last and happened on a summer night, so it really made me want to go and enjoy life. But if that was too heavy, it ended the movie with the most romantically touching ending. It was just a perfect sequence for me.

My Score: 8/10

  1. I’ve been browsing online more than three hours these days,
but I never discovered any attention-grabbing article like yours.
It’s pretty worth sufficient for me. In my opinion, if all web owners and bloggers made good content material as you did,
the web will be a lot more useful than ever before.
