Father’s House Drama Review

Father’s House

My Score: 7.5/10

Lead Actors: Choi Min-Su Kim Soo Hyun Moon Jung-Hee

Episodes: 2

Genre: Family/Drama

Summary: Kang Man-Ho comes out of prison to discover he’s a father. The mother had left the baby with his father and ran away, thinking Man-Ho didn’t care about her… when really it was his pride that got in their way. Because instead of telling her he was going to prison, he told her he had another woman.

Initially Man-Ho doesn’t want the baby, but after a terrible bus accident, Man-Ho starts living only for his child.

This drama is short because it was designed to be a New Year’s special.

Review: I came into this drama not knowing exactly what to expect… basically I watched it for Kim Soo Hyun, haha.

This drama was well-written. There were many intense scenes, as well as sweet father-and-son moments. It will mostly likely grip you by the end of the first episode.

For the characters, the father’s sacrifices are really touching. I hated the mother, but could understand why everyone made the choices they did. This made it easy to emphasize with and understand the father.

The acting was really good too. Kim Soo Hyun is a master at anguished crying scenes and Choi Min-Su could really portray different stages the father went through as the years passed… as well as expressing different emotions.

For a two episode drama, it’s a meaningful drama that’s worth watching.

Things I Didn’t Like: I can’t really think of any… I guess I would’ve liked to know exactly what had happened to the son when he was in America… and then some of the plot ideas were a little too much, but nothing that made it too cheesy or unbelievable.

My Score: 8/10
