Product: This time the piece of clothing are these black pants with belt straps down the legs. You’ll most likely find them on Ebay if you search “Kera”.

punk rave kera visual kei pants review

Info: As I stated in my previous reviews, I’m an American size 8/9 or Large. Like the other pants I reviewed, I ordered an XXL and it seems to fit well. I may need a belt to tighten up the waist, but that’s better than almost being to tight like a previous pair. (They seem to fit perfectly until I start walking, haha.)

I’m not really sure if these are actual “Punk Rave” brand pants.
The other pants of this brand that I received, came in an official Punk Rave plastic envelope, had the signature spider button, and had all the tags stating it was Punk Rave.

Product Review: Punk Rave Exposed Knee Pants Review

Product: This time the piece of clothing are these short-converting bondage-style Japanese pants from Punk Rave. You’ll most likely find them on Ebay if you search “Kera”.

Interesting to note, the skirt on my pants are opposite than those in the photo, and it’s not turned backwards. The skull and grommets were over the zipper, not the buckles. (This photo might be of a prototype.)

Info: First off, these really appear to be authentic Punk Rave brand pants. They came in the original plastic packaging, have the spider button and label.

Now, I’m a size 8 or 9 in average pants sold in the United States. I bought a size XXL of these pants because that’s the size I got for the Punk Rave pants that fit me best. Those pants had the exact same measurements listed as these pants on the Ebay store (88 cm waist, 104 cm hips), so I thought they’d fit perfectly.

Well, these pants did fit me a lot better than the previous pants-to-shorts “Punk Rave” pants I bought from a different seller previously, (which were tight on the thighs but extremely wide in the hips).
However, they did not fit as perfectly as the other pair, (which were comfortably baggy, yet acceptably snug in all the right places).
I feel tempted to warn that the measurements listed in the Ebay store were wrong… these pants seem almost too tight. I’m not sure if I would’ve been able to get these on if they had been a centimeter smaller.

Product Review: Punk Rave Snap Pants to Shorts

So, on the last Friday of every month, I’ll do this little segment… a review on some clothes I bought online.

Why? Because I was looking for something like this myself when I was going to buy them, so I think it’ll be helpful.

Product: This month is another punk-style pair of pants. There were no brand tags on the pants. You’ll probably find them on Ebay if you search under “Kera”.

I really wanted these pants for a long time… when I got them, I found they were a bit strange.

Info: First off, I got a size XXL, like I did with the other pants of similar style/origin. I usually wear a size 8 (L) in American sized pants. However, these were a lot baggier than the other pants I bought from Punk Rave. I’d need a belt, but even with that, there will be a bit of a gap at the waist in the back, (however, I’m short-waisted and this happens a lot to me… other people might not have this problem).

…But I’m afraid to go down a size because the thighs are strangely tight where the detachable snaps are. I can fit into them and it’s not like it cuts off circulation (lol) but it’s very snug. I’m worried if I exchange for a smaller waist, then the pants won’t fit around my thighs. (For reference, the largest part of my thighs are about 21 inches around).

The quality of the fabric is nice. It’s not flimsy or anything. The zipper seems okay so far.

Things I didn’t like about these pants were: The whole quality really bad.
The snaps are low quality. When I first took the pants out of the package and put them on without even touching the snaps, two of them just fell off. The other snaps seem okay so far, but I don’t know if I should trust them forever.

punk rave snap shorts review

Broken chain after 1-2 wears.

The chain around the top broke and so did the metal fasteners that held the belt loops down. This is just from a few times of special occasion wearing.

I only wore them about 5 times in 6 months, I didn’t even wash them, and the fake leather around the top is already cracking and peeling, which makes it look bad.

Cracking, low quality, fake leather.

Cracking, low quality, fake leather.

Also, the pants legs won’t stay up if they aren’t connected to the shorts. Yeah, it looks nice in the photo, but it’s unrealistic. I had the belt strapped to the tightest on the biggest part of my leg and they still started slipping even when I just sat down. This could be fixed if you make your own connector straps or something like in similar styles. (FYI you can get some really cute heart-shaped suspender clips at

You’ll have to make something like this….

Another thing is the strap that comes with the pants. That thing is super confusing… you’re really going to have to use photo reference to get that on right!

Overall: I would not buy it again. At the time, I didn’t dislike them enough to exchange or sell them… and now it’s too late for me to do so.
I spent about $50 on them, and I think that was way overpriced for the quality. I wouldn’t spend more than $20 on these, and that almost feels generous. There’s no way you could wear these a lot without them completely falling apart.

Where I bought mine: I bought them on Ebay from ling_lam2005. They were helpful and responded quickly to any questions I had after the purchase. The pants came within a month (to the United States) and the package wasn’t damaged. However, I wasn’t able to exchange them like I was originally planning because the return cost was all on me and that just wasn’t possible at the time. Still, you most likely won’t have to worry about the package being lost in the mail when ordering from them.

Product Review: Holika Holika Egg Soap

Product: This month’s review is on the Hollika Hollika egg soap.

Info: This soap comes individually wrapped tightly with a clear plastic. It comes in 4 different types: Regular, Red Clay, Green Tea, and Charcoal. I got the Red Clay.

Opinion: It does have a perfume smell like other reviews have stated. My nose is really sensitive to synthetic smells, but I quickly got used to it and haven’t been bothered at all. The smell under the perfume is kind of eggy, but pleasant.

I liked it, but not for the price… it’s hard to find this soap sold for under $15.00. With shipping and handling, you’re looking at $20.00 at least. That’s about $10.00 an egg. Now that would be do-able, but these eggs are small. They’re smaller than a normal real chicken egg. They last about a month each if used by two people.

At first, I thought it was a fairly good soap. Nothing special, but not worse than any other bar soap. However, after a month of using this, I realized that it was making me get pimples in places I never got them before… like around my eyes, eyebrows and forehead (and they’re not just small pimples). Also, the pimples wouldn’t clear faster or anything and they were more red than usual,  which is abnormal for me. (My diet hadn’t changed or anything else, so I’m pretty sure it was the soap.)

It is fairly drying, so use a moisturizer afterwards!

Overall: I won’t buy this again unless it’s to try one of the other formulas… and that’s just because I’m a very curious person, (which is why I bought this in the first place).

Bottom line is, you can get something just as effective for a much cheaper price, like African black soap bought in bulk. It also may or may not give you those strange pimples. My sister didn’t seem to have any problems like I did.

Where I bought mine: This is a pretty good site. You can request things you want from Korea if you can’t find it on any other site and they always send an extra little gift.  However, there are a few over-priced items on their site, so make sure you look around a bit first. It can also take a bit longer than usual to get the items since they’re kind of doing a middle-man thing, (they have to wait for their contact in Korea to send it to them first). Besides that, I like this shop and would probably order from them again.
