Review: This is a modern adaption of the story “Legend of Choon-Hyang“.

Personally, I liked this series a lot. It did have a lot of drama, but it was also good with the humor so it balanced out. It was hard to accept the decisions Choon-Hyang made sometimes, but if you really think about it, there wasn’t much else someone could do in her situation.

For acting, Han Chae Young and Jae Hee were great. They both had awesome chemistry, and in fact, had won an award as best drama couple when this series came out. Their characters were believable and real; this drama made me a big fan of both of them.

All the characters had good development, but the CEO and Mong-Ryong went through the most interesting changes. The female love rival is probably the biggest con of the series… she’s one of those stereotypical spiteful women with not much depth and she’s just a boring character because of it. However, her role isn’t big enough to make it a bad series. Choon-Hyang’s best friends are worth to note as they were interesting and fun enough to make up for the unimaginative love rival.

I also want to say; I loved the soundtrack for this drama. It’s rare for me to enjoy just about every song in a drama, but this one was almost perfect in my opinion.

My Score: 9/10
