Anna-san no Omame Japanese Drama Review

Anna-san no Omame

My Score: 7.5/10

★★★☆☆

Lead Actors: Becky Anzu Sayuri Kashiwabara Shuji

Episodes: 10

Genre: Comedy

Summary: Poor Kyoutaro just wants to date his lovely girlfriend, Anna. Unfortunately, Anna’s best friend is the most misunderstanding woman in the world. Suffer with Kyoutaro as he is tortured through Lily’s misunderstanding that Kyoutaro is secretly in love with her!

Review: This is a pretty good comedy drama. A lot of people can’t last more than 3 episodes… but once you suddenly understand that Lily isn’t just annoying to the viewer [you], but she’s annoying to everybody in the whole drama except for Anna, it gets much better. Yeah, it may be irritating sometimes, but it really makes you feel like you’re getting sucked down with Kyoutaro, haha.

There are a lot of really funny scenes. I laughed quite a bit. The actors were really good in their roles. Becky is perfect as Lily.

Another interesting thing about this drama, is how you’re always wondering whether Lily is truly misunderstanding, or whether she’s intentionally deluding herself to hide from any pain that might happen to her. I’ve seen this drama three times now, and I still find myself guessing.

Also, I’d like to note that the ending theme is one of my favorites. I love the song and the visuals, (I just find Becky to be really pretty, okay? lol).

Things I Didn’t Like: Of course, Lily does get pretty annoying and frustrating at times, haha. Some people might not be able to watch this in one sitting because of that. (Though, other people might get addicted. My husband actually really likes Lily a lot, haha.)

The ending could’ve been better IMO… but hey, it was just a little brainless kind of comedy, so it’s excusable.

My Score: 7.5/10
